Super 7

Welcome to Year 2's brand new blog! Class 7 are very excited to write the very first blog post.

We have begun with a very busy week at Ridgeway. We have been swimming, learned about the < and > symbols in maths and celebrated Roald Dahl day. Did you know he would have been 101 years old if he was still alive? We have also been drawing our own self-portraits and we're going to have a go at finishing them in the style of Pablo Picasso in the next few weeks.

< and > mean greater and less than, if you weren't sure. Charlie Crocodile helps us to remember where to put each number.

For example:
 7 > 2, this means 7 is greater than 2.
2 < 17, this means 2 is less than 17.

Our topic for this half term is George's Marvellous Medicine. We've been reading the book and so far we think it is fantastic! We very carefully designed and created some small artwork to go on our display. Soon we will be writing poems to go on to the shelves too.

This year we are looking forward to pirate day, going to the places of worship, having a Victorian school day and lots of exciting school trips. We've heard about these from our friends and family who used to be in year 2 and we hope we get to do them too!

Make sure you check our blog regularly to see all of the exciting things we've been up to.
