This week we started our new topic - Vile Victorians!
We had a really fun afternoon on Wednesday...Miss Ainger transformed the classroom into a Victorian school. We had to sit separately with boys on one side and girls on the other. We got to dress up in old-fashioned outfits. We weren't used to wearing hats to school!
We spent some time practising our cursive writing with chalks on blackboards, counting using an abacus and learning the national anthem. Cursive writing is really tricky to read and write, especially with chalk.
Some of us had to wear the dunce's hat - a few children accidentally broke their chalk and some children were talking. Children in Victorian times should only speak when spoken to.
We also went outside to complete some drills. There was lots of marching and Miss Ainger made us do star jumps until our legs were aching!
We're going to be writing a diary entry about o
ur experiences on Friday, look out for the writing in our books at parents evening.
We can't wait to learn more and go on our Victorians school trip.
